Thomas D. Williams
A number of things can get in the way of us having the life that we want.
My role in therapy is to help clients think through strategies to better enable them to navigate the transitions and the difficult circumstances they encounter to ultimately become the person they want to be.
Therapy is about living an authentic life by taking action on the things that matter most to us, pursuing what we see as valuable, and engaging fully in what we do.
Let me help you become “unstuck” from old patterns and develop the tools to live a more satisfying life. You do not have to figure this out on your own.

FAQ
Absolutely! Numerous research studies have proven that psychotherapy is as effective, if not more so, than medication management in treating many conditions such as anxiety and depression. Additionally, the results of therapy are also longer lasting and more effective. However, therapy is not a quick fix, easy answer or magical cure. Therapy is a process that requires honesty, open-mindedness and willingness.
Each therapy session is 45-minutes in duration. Some clients may request, or be recommended, to participate in weekly therapy sessions, while others may benefit from therapy once every other week, or even once a month, depending on their individual needs. Client responses to therapy, levels of motivation for change and personal strengths are uniquely individual. For this reason, some clients are able to achieve their therapy goals within just a few sessions, while others may require a more extended period of time to achieve their desired results.
We believe that your treatment is between you and your provider. When insurance companies contract with a provider, they can dictate your treatment, and you give them access to all your notes. This can interfere with you getting the very best therapy as insurance companies are in the business of making money, not treating patients. We don’t contract with insurance companies on our end because we want to protect your information and focus on you getting the help that you want. If you’re going to use your insurance, we can still help you get reimbursed by providing you with all the paperwork you need and will guide you through the reimbursement process.
Daytime and evening appointments are available Monday through Friday.
The most important predictor in a successful therapy outcome is the therapeutic relationship that develops between a client and a therapist. For this reason, the first session is extremely important. It’s an opportunity for to learn about you, understanding your current challenges, background, and what you aspire to gain from therapy. It’s natural to feel some unease when sharing personal details for the first time; please know it’s entirely up to you how much you wish to disclose. However, the more information you share over time, the you position your therapist to assist and collaborate with you on your therapeutic journey.
